After Michael Crichton passed away in 2008, this manuscript was found on his hard drive. Written in 2006, it hadn't been published, probably with good reason. It isn't very good and is quite rough and unpolished. It's also a very cliche-ridden pirate novel with the storms, kidnappings, sex, monsters, hangings, etc. that you would expect to find in a pirate novel. One reviewer called it a rated R Pirates of the Caribbean. There was a word in it that I didn't know so I looked it up and found out that it was a vulgar term for a part of the female anatomy. Other than that there wasn't much swearing but there was plenty of violence and sex. I wouldn't bother with this one. Rated R.
